Quick Update

Well another couple of weeks between posts but what can I say ????

Things are going well at home - the verandah is up and looks fantastic (even if it went up a month late and took them another two weeks to come around and silicone the joins !) but I know that it will certainly be well used once the rest of the renovations are completed. The concrete guy was supposed to come this week but his machine broke down and so we are hoping that he will be here next week - would really like it done before Christmas. Actually I want it done 2 months ago - the dust that blows into the house every time it is a little windy is driving me nuts !

Got home last night to find that the pool cover we have just bought (but not yet paid for) was no longer on our pool - BUGGER !!!!!!! Can we claim from insurance if we haven't paid for it yet ? Popped over to neighbours to see if they had seen anyone - no sorry but we did hear some banging - to steal a pool cover - couldn't be, must the neighbours on the other side of us busy with their renovations. Phoned the pool shop - already closed. Tried to phone the pool shop again this morning - busy signal. After dropping K at work went into the pool shop to pay outstanding invoice for other work done and mention missing pool cover - oh yes, they took it away as they had ordered the incorrect size and are waiting on a replacement cover - a note or phone call wouldn't have gone amiss I say !!!!!! Very sheepish look from pool man. Huge sigh of relief from Al and I !!!!

K has done extremely well at school this year - proud parents yet again !!! Academic honours and a host of sporting trophies - YAY - we must be doing something right !!!!!

I cannot say that my weight is continuing to creep because I am now in denial and haven't stepped on a scale for a long time. Those of you who know what a scale whore I am will know how serious this is for me. I have hired the treadmill and have used it 3 times this week (in between pulling up pavers after work) - I definitely find it harder work than walking in the street. I generaly walk at around 7kph on the road - am finding it much more difficult to walk at 7kph on the t/mill although walk at that because I don't want to be a wuss who walks on the treadmill slower than she walks on the road !!!! Hopefully once the end of year at school is over, things will settle down and I will have more time to walk.

Went to the markets last weekend and got some more lovely veggies - and bananas. The ones from a month ago were so delicious we couldn't not get any more at $7/kg. There is talk that they will be down to $3/kg by Christmas but I don't know if I can see that happening - not with only 3 weeks to go.

I am so over Christmas and I haven't even done anything apart from order the turkey !!! No present shopping, no thoughts to the tree (although lucky on this one because K LOVES to put up the tree and decorate when she is on holiday), certainly no thought to meals !!!

It was so GREAT to have my folks home from their holiday. While they had a good time away (5 weeks) they said that they were pleased to be home. It is so good to be able to pick up the phone and just chat each day.

As I don't think that I will be posting again before Christmas I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a FANTASTIC CHRISTMAS and EVERYTHING OF THE BEST FOR 2007 !

Take care and travel safely wherever you are, and remember - you are all amazing people who deserve lots of wonderful things.
